How to get to Koh Samui
Koh Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island, with an area of 228.7 km2, a population of over 63,000. Koh Samui has its own International Airport and travel by plane is easy with direct flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport, by the main carrier Bangkok Airways.
Flights to Koh Samui:
Direct flights to Koh Samui from domestic airports in Thailand or with direct flights from other countries are limited. For most flights transit is necessary, for example in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (1h 15min), Phuket (55min), U-Tapao Pattaya Chonburi (1h 10 min) or Singapore (2h). Please consult the flight schedule or your airline for updated flight connections.
Koh Samui can also be reached by frequent ferry services from the mainland, either by Seatran Ferry or by Raja Ferry from the two ferry ports in Don Sak, Surat Thani to the Seatran Ferry Port in Nathon or to the Raja Ferry Port in Lipa Noi on Koh Samui. Travel time on the ferry is about 1h30, with embarking and disembarking about 2h.
